It's Been A While

Wow, it has been a long time since we have posted any updates. Note to self, must post updates more often. There has been a lot to do out here on the farm. That is what we call our new home.

Since our last update we have gone to a 5 day AKC show. As some of you know there is a very large 5 day show at the National Western Complex every year over the president’s day holiday. This year we only showed Kenna, Lizzie, and Bingley. Even though all 3 of them showed their hearts out we did not take home any wins. Thankfully Andee was shown and was able to get both of her majors. HUGE CONGATULATIONS to Debbie & Sam Walker and thank you so much for all you do for Ms. Andee. As you will see Andee is quite the looker.

Then the weekend of March 13th & 14th we went to a UKC show. We showed Dagney, Kenna, Lizzie and Bingley. We came home with 3 new UKC champions, Dagney, Bingley, and Kenna. Bingley took breed 2 out 3 shows as well as a Group 2. Woo Hoo!!!! Then there was the surprise breed win where Lizzie took breed over Bingley.

Our niece Trinity showed Kenna in juniors at 2 of the shows. Trinity is really starting to become a great handler. The judges had very nice compliments for her. They were all so amazed at how well her and Kenna work together. See the pictures below.

Our new home is such a blessing. The dogs love it, we love it and let me tell you there is no such thing as too much space. Below are some pictures of the sun rise and sun set at our new home. As I said our home is truly a blessing in so many ways.

I will do my very best to keep this blog updated on a more regular basis. In the mean time I hope for those that read this you and your families are doing well.

Happy 2010!!!!

As 2009 ends and 2010 begins Nick and I thought it would be fun to document this year’s adventures through a Blog. We thought that this might be a great way to keep everyone up to date on our adventures with our dogs.

However, before we get started with 2010 we wanted to do a quick review of 2009. This last year was a year of ups and several downs. Thankfully we ended the year on several high notes.

  • There were 6 Van D Mastiff Champions in 2009.

    • Ch Van D’s Model Tee Ford –“Romo” – Feb. 2009
    • Ch Van D’s Star Spangled Banner, CGC “Boo” – June 2009
    • Ch Van D’s Tangled up in Blu, CGC “Dylan” – Sept. 2009
    • Ch Van D Bear Mnt’s Starrs N’Stripes, CGC –“Starr” – Sept. 2009
    • Ch Van D Bear Mnt’s Outta the Blu –“Whimsy” – Oct. 2009
    • Ch Van D America’s Favorite Pastime, RN, CGC, TDI-“Cooper”-Dec. 2009

  • 5 of the 6 Champion’s were Dagney & Banner’s kids. By having 5 champions this puts Dagney into the MCOA Hall of Fame!!!

  • In late November Van D Mastiffs moved to a wonderful home on 40 acres. All of our kids are in 7th heaven with all the space to run and play.

Our new home is on the north eastern plains. With this move there have come several opportunities to learn about rural life. With each lesson we are being taught what we have been missing and we continue to grow fonder of our new home.

Please check back often as we will be posting pictures of our adventures through out 2010.
